This course explored concept of equity and their implications for teaching, learning, and leading. We considered our own backgrounds and identities. We discussed and applied structural and pedagogical approaches and examined the High Tech High design principles against the backdrop of inequitable academic outcomes in our schools. We generated a final product that described concrete steps we took to address essential questions, and reflected on the intersections between our own identity, student diversity, and school culture.
In the end, we gained new understandings of equity and diversity, and put theory to practice in our own professional contexts.
